Nuts are Good For You

Eating nuts every day could help keep the doctor away.  Study after study has shown that eating peanuts or tree nuts like almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts or pistachios is good for you.  When consumed as part of a healthy diet and in reasonable portions, nuts can lead to a longer life and reduce the risk of heart disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Each nut has a unique aspect.  Walnuts are the richest source of plant based omega 3 fatty acids, almonds are a great source of vitamin E and peanuts are the most nutrient rich.  All nuts contain a good source of fiber, a nutrient we don’t get enough of, protein, nutrients and healthy fats.
